that's all well and good, but the price is a killer.
Car makers need to develop more technology for the lower end cars, which they sell most of. Just think if Ford created a drop in engine/gearbox replacement for their cars. They would get new sales and also people going in for conversions - it would be worth spending a few grand to get a car converted because of the potential savings that could be made.
