Choosing a new car
Posted by: Bernie, 08-Oct 12:44
I am about to sell my 3 litre car which has a fairly high CO2 output. We're goign to stick with 1 car for a while (lots of kids - need a car!), but will eventually need to get a second car again.
When we do, it'll be a low carbon car, to benefit from the better tax breaks and cheaper running costs more than anything.
But what do I go for? I suppose the longer I with the more choice there will be. Anyone else looking for similar?

there are a lot of very low carbon cars in the pipeline - lots of interest from the manufacturers. I would say to wait as long as you can and see what the market is doing at the time. It's all changing too quickly.

I'm stuck as we have to have a people carrier as we have children and you just can't get a low carbon people carrier yet. It would be better to get two small cars for us to fit in, but how does that help the envrionment? Madness.
